Hello, my goblin friends! With my kitchen being under construction, it’s been very difficult for me to bake. This has taken quite the toll on my seasonal celebrating. Luckily, we finally hooked up my stove the other night. What recipe did I christen my new stove with, you ask?
I sort of cheated, actually. Hey, I still don’t have any countertops or sink! Instead of creating a new recipe, I revamped one from spooky seasons past. These crystal ball Halloween cupcakes are perfect for your next party, and this new version is even easier than the last.
Happy day after Easter, everybody! You know what I love more than holiday candy? Holiday candy on sale. The day after a holiday is the best day for hitting up those candy aisles, filling your cart to the brim, and inducing a sugar coma for less than $10. It’s awesome.
Easter candy is a little rough, though. Have you noticed it’s all the same things, over and over? Lots of plain chocolate shaped as different animals. Lots (and I mean lots) of jelly beans. And of course, marshmallows (a.k.a. Peeps). It gets a little boring, especially when trying to eat my entire weight’s worth.
It’s birthday season in the Faust house, which means I’ve been busy in the kitchen! I love this time of year, when all the birthdays in the family clump around the same months. I think I’m at my most creative about now.
There’s nothing more depressing than having the same dessert, night after night, and the same can be said about birthday cakes. Birthdays are about celebrating the individual, so a generic cake simply won’t do!
My husband is always a pain to shop for around Valentine’s Day. As I’ve mentioned before, he doesn’t like sweets very much. To make matters worse, right now he’s on a diet. I had to get very creative with his gift this year, and that’s when I stumbled upon beef jerky bouquets.
Have you heard of these? They’re amazing. Intricate flowers made out of various types of jerky. I saw a perfect bunch here but was shocked at the price. Jerky is expensive, I understand that, and bouquets take a lot of jerky, but I just couldn’t justify $70 plus for a Valentine’s treat.
It’s February, and while for most that means Valentine’s Day is on the horizon, for me it means Galentine’s Day is coming!
Galentine’s Day is a celebration on February 13 where girls get together and wallow in their love for one another. I heard about it for the first time on “Parks and Recreation” and absolutely fell in love with the idea.
Happy Halloween, my spooky friends! I hope you have a scary film playing in the background, Jack o’ Lanterns lit, because the hours are counting down until the Trick-or-Treaters come knocking on your door.
To finish off my Hosting Halloween series, I’ve put together a table that really gives me the heebie-jeebies. Nothing creeps me out more than a deep and dark forest.
