I’m a sucker for vintage arcade games, and no game keeps me as entertained (and frustrated. Curse you, Pinky!) as Pac-Man.
Pac-Man celebrates it’s 36th birthday this year, very close to my own birthday. I was going to put this recipe up in late May, but I couldn’t wait. These cute little guys were just begging to be shown off!

It’s almost St. Patrick’s Day, and my house is overflowing with Guinness!
While my family loves sweets, we also love a good beer. We rotate brews with the changing seasons. Sometimes we get a little overzealous, and I’m left to think of crafty ways to get rid of the excess beer. I’m already working on a few more St. Patrick and Guinness themed recipes, but this one is one of my top favorites!

It’s not always sweet here in the Faust Bakes kitchen, and what better recipe to be the first savory dish on the blog than a Guinness cottage pie?
Now, the reason I put cottage pie in quotes in the title of this post is because, as I learned while researching this recipe, this is only technically a cottage pie, but in no way traditional.

Happy Valentine’s Day to all of my loves!! As many of you know, I have a tendency to over-celebrate the holidays, even relatively tiny ones, like Valentine’s Day. It’s something I get from my mom. She would always decorate the house in sparkling red hearts, hang up streamers, and give each of us kids a special present to show how much she loved us. In my house, Valentine’s wasn’t really about romantic love, it was about all kinds of love, and it still is today.

Just as a warning, these cookies are unbelievably addicting. They have a soft, buttery crumb that melts in your mouth. And that sweet, fruity center! The combination is a perfectly tart cookie that I dare you to eat just one of.

Christmas may be over, but in Kentucky, the winter months haven’t even started yet!
Today, it’s a nice 60 degrees, one of the colder days so far this month, and it’s raining cats and dogs. So while it may not be cold enough for hot chocolate, it sure is dreary enough!

Eggnog is always a big holiday favorite in my family, and since I’m always looking for a treat that’ll make a splash, I was all over this!
I originally saw this bread on the Sprinkle Bakes blog, and was absolutely determined to make it exactly as Heather had. It looked so fabulous, why mess with it? The only problem is that I was having no luck finding the fruit cake mix the recipe called for.

I’m not sure if “Granbaum” is the actual name of these cookies (and after several Google searches, I think not), but they taste so good, I don’t think it really matters.
Granbaum sugar cookies are a soft, almost chewy, subtly sweet cookie that really shines with a big dollop of buttercream. They’re a holiday staple in my family, have been for years, which might be the source of the garbled name. A bunch of sugar-crazy toddlers screaming for more of Grandma’s cookies, maybe? Who knows.

Anyone who knows me knows that I am obsessed with the show “Psych,” and I’m not the least bit sorry, either! I even call my car the Blackberry.
In 2010, Shawn and Gus were invited to the Cinnamon Festival in the episode “Dual Spires.” The two stumble upon the world’s best cinnamon pie, and I just had to have it! After the episode aired, I and several other Psych-os took the internet in search of this magical pie only to find that–wait for iiiiiiit–it didn’t exist!

If we’re being honest, there is no reason to manipulate a brownie recipe. Brownies are quite possibly the best things to happen to baking since cherry pies.
This recipe came about one night when I wanted brownies real bad and nearly ruined the recipe. Now I know where the recipe went wrong, but in the moment, I was not going to argue with these delicious brownie sandwiches!
